Many laboratory applications being performed today are run on manual SFE units. While manual extractors are most suitable for a wide variety of uses and offer the advantages of simplicity and moderate cost, certain applications such as aerogel drying where a long, slow letdown of pressure is required, it’s best to use an SFE that automates the process. When drying an aerogel, the pressure must not be reduced too quickly otherwise the delicate cells may be ruptured.
The SFT-130A can automate much of the process, carefully controlling the pressure reduction, and preserving the integrity of the aerogel. Additional functions include programable dynamic flow / soak cycles and back pressure regulator control. These convenient features free up the researcher to do other things.
